Here’s how to watch the presidential debate between Trump and Harris on Tuesday – Iowa State Daily

Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump are set to debate on Tuesday night. 

This is the first debate between the two since President Joe Biden ended his campaign and dropped out of the presidential race in July. Biden and Trump held a debate on CNN in June, which ultimately led to Biden removing himself from the race.

The debate will be held at 8 p.m. CST and streamed or aired on the following platforms:

David Muir, anchor of “World News Today,” and Linsey Davis, “Prime” anchor, will serve as moderators for the debate, which is expected to last 90 minutes. 

Things to look out for:

Topics set to be discussed by the candidates include the economy, immigration, reproductive rights and crime. According to the Pew Research Center, 81% of Americans say the economy is a major issue affecting their vote in November.

While this debate is the first between the current presidential candidates, it is not the first time either candidate has debated on the national stage.

Harris debated Trump’s former running mate and former Vice President, Mike Pence, in 2020. This was her most recent debate appearance, where the two debated on immigration, economic policy and healthcare.

Trump’s last debate appearance was against Biden in June, where he sparred with the current president on his economic agenda and immigration policy. The pair also fielded questions on their age, which has been a common concern among voters.

Ohio Sen. JD Vance will go head-to-head with Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz during the vice presidential debate Oct. 1.

The debate will be moderated by Norah O’Donnell, “CBS Evening News” anchor and managing editor, and Margaret Brennan, “Face the Nation” moderator and chief foreign affairs correspondent.
